I have absolutely no idea what to expect from this team.
I think the bye week came at a perfect time.
I think we win by a TD.

Marshall had a pretty tough schedule.

Prediction: either Parks or Acker gets a look at CB for at least a few plays. Last year Darrius Johnson was reinserted into the lineup after an off week. McConnico also got some work after injury and played pretty damn well.. I just think that with the games remaining on our schedule including ECU and possibly UCF possibly Hawaii that they may give one of those two a look. We've lost 3 of 4 and CB seems to have changed the entire strategy of our defense. The extra week could be used to ease one of them in the lineup. If they still are not ready after Game 11 when our CB situation is such a liability then we may really need to hit the JUCOs hard at CB. Now if Sterling Moore is close to 100% then maybe not-but even then his availiability for the rest of the season is a questionmark since his injury is reoccuring.

I agree with Stallion. There was a point made during the scrimmage that Parks and Acker looked good at CB. No time to be timid with what is on the line.

I hope either Parks or Acker is now ready to contribute at CB. I remember Park's play against Washington State at the end of the game this year when he got burned bad on a deep route TD. Hopefully his play has gotten better than that.

38-34 SMU. Our games seem to be always close. Like it to be more, but a win is so important.

Here’s The Deal … Shhhh. Although it’s a well-kept secret, even in Conference USA circles, SMU somehow still controls its own destiny in the West Division. While it’s done nothing to deserve it over the past month, the Mustangs have ascended through attrition, and are tied atop the standings with Tulsa. Having beaten the Golden Hurricane back on Oct. 3, June Jones team needs just two more wins to take another big step in the rebuilding process. No, the competition hasn’t been fierce, but rookie Marshall head coach Doc Holliday deserves a lot of credit for keeping his team focused through its darkest moments. Battling back from a 1-6 start, the Herd has taken three straight to remain in postseason contention. Since only five league schools are bowl-eligible, the program has a shot of joining them with two more victories.
Why Marshall Might Win: The recent run by the school has been driven by the play of the defense, which has allowed an average of 14 points during the winning streak. As has been the case all season, DE Vinny Curry and LB Mario Harvey are heading the charge, leading the team in tackles and combining for 28.5 tackles for loss and 16 sacks. Keeping the SMU offense in check is not as daunting as it might seem. The Mustangs are averaging only 26 points a game, and have been inconsistent in the red zone.
Why SMU Might Win: Okay, so the Mustangs haven’t been scoring up to Jones’ liking, but how much will it take to defeat Marshall? The Herd has had issues with injuries and execution throughout 2010, ranking 11th in the league in scoring and total offense. SMU won’t have to press to win this game, mixing in the power running of Zach Line with the precision passing of Kyle Padron. The team’s inexperience in the secondary won’t be so glaring this week, especially if active linebackers Ja’Gared Davis, Pete Fleps, and Taylor Reed can force lumbering QB Brian Anderson out of his comfort zone.
What To Watch Out For: When Curry is lined up opposite SMU LT Kelvin Beachum, it figures to be one of the best—and most important—match ups of the afternoon. Curry has burst on to the scene with his ability to get off the snap and get around the edge. Beachum, however, has great footwork and has been labeled a next-level pass blocker by the coaching staff. He’ll need to perform that way on Saturday as the blindside protector for Padron.
What Will Happen: SMU better be real careful and ready to shed any rust that built up during the bye week. Marshall is confident and poised to defend its three-game winning streak. In the end, however, the Herd won’t have enough weapons to overtake the Mustangs. The combination of Line’s running and Padron’s passing will wear out the defense and help secure a crucial victory.
CFN Prediction: SMU 27 ... Marshall 17 … Line: SMU -13.5

It's difficult to accept that this game should be considered a close one, but it will be. Someone else on this thread said it best - "I have no idea what to expect from this team."
