I would much rather bring UTEP than Tulsa. UTEP brings more fans and could possibly bring the Sun Bowl.

UTEP has never brought the Sun Bowl in that bowl's entire history; why would they start now?

A strong MWC could possibly attract a PAC12 MWC bowl match-up in the Sun Bowl.

Perhaps, but my impressions from talking to UTEP fans is that the Sun Bowl Committee tends to look down on UTEP and any conference they are affiliated with. Maybe the UTEP guys are just miffed that they have never been good enough to play in the Sun Bowl...who knows?

I think the biggest factor in a decision such as that would be if TCU was staying, or going to the BE.

If TCU is staying, then I would jump at the chance to join the MWC. With the manner in which they have positioned themselves with additions recently, they are the front running non-AQ conference to join the BCS ranks. That makes this a step up.

If TCU leaves for BE, then this would be no better than a side step, so I would vote no.

Regardless of whether TCU leaves or not, a move to the MWC is much better then a sidestep, especially if UCF leaves CUSA. Boise St, Hawaii, San Diego St, Nevada, Air Force and TCU could all possibly win CUSA. Fresno St. is decent as well. New Mexico, Colo St., Wyoming, and UNLV are dead weight but not anymore then Rice, Tulane, and Memphis are. TCU or not, they are still the closest non-AQ to getting an automatic bid to the BCS. There could be huge recruiting benefits to playing in the MWC. Playing games in California and having that exposure could really help Klemm even more in recruiting. He is killing it right now and the closest we play to California is El Paso.

Can you REALLY trust TCU to stay put given their last 2 moves??? I agree with expony 18. We found out that the WAC didn't work. Why do we want to go through that again? Plus I like the eastern exposure that CUSA gives us and the local rivalries we have. JMHO!
