UAB should have beat Tennessee this year and we stomped on UAB.

I saw one website suggesting SMU goes to the Beef O'Brady Bowl (or something like that) at the horrendous Tropicana Dome in St. Petersberg.

That's an awful sounding meal....Beef O'Brady with Tropicana to drink.

Are the bowl contracts conferences sign so weak as to not be enforceable?

No one has answered why not new Orleans?
It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!

That bowl if for one of the conferences weakest bowl teams. Do you really want to play a team from the Sun Belt Conference?

Its for the 5th place CUSA team...we are past that. Besides that it only pays $325,000 per team....

I believe this web site sums it up fairly well regarding which bowl a team goes to according to their finish within their own conference. look weekly for updates.

The money is not a factor as it is split equally between CUSA teams. The 5th place factor is the key. I would expect to see UTEP possibly UH if they manage to beat Tech today.

I think we also have a slot in the DC Bowl (whatever name it goes by now used to be Eagle Bank). Selfishly, I'd love to see us in that bowl, but apparently ECU will get the nod against an ACC team (UNC or Maryland).
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Give me Liberty or give me AFB.

And eff the SEC. Bunch of self-righteous, pompous a-holes.

I'm sure part of the problem with the SEC not wanting to play a lot of CUSA teams is the possibility of poor attendance by CUSA team fans. If we show up at whatever Bowl game we get invited to and work [deleted] our attendance in the off season, we will be in a lot better shape in the future. PONY UP !

My Guess is the SEC does not want to play CUSA teams is because they view it as having no upside. If they play another BCS conference it gives them bragging rights. If they play and win against a CUSA team everyone says of course its expected but if they lose they look horrible
