great picture of Phillips. Reminds me of how impressed I was by him last year, particularly in the TCU game when I thought Phillips showed composure and at the same time was an absolute warrior and actually laid some punishment on the TCU defensive backfield which has punished our ball carriers for several years now. Looking forward to seeing how Phillips improves this year. He has monster upside potential. I think we better hitch the wagon to this guy.

Couldn't agree more, Hoop. Phillips was the single-most dangerous player in the TCU game. Had the game gone an extra quarter, we had a legitimate chance at the upset. Now that he has a full year and a spring under his belt, he's only going to get better. I just hope he's latched himself on to Coach Burns, soaking up everything he can about the new offense. He has the arm strength to go downfield, but I think his skills are tailor-made for the pseudo-West Coast offense Coach Burns is installing.

Strange you bring this up. I was thinking about Phillips as I drove to lunch today. Seems to me that a player of his caliber HAS to be on the field one way or another. If for some chance he gets beat out at QB (which doesn't appear to be probable at this point), where else do you put the guy? WR?

If he likes to hit, maybe a nasty strong safety/punt return man.

he's going to end up being a star QB-I wouldn't worry about it.

Given Stallion's ability to avoid sugar-coating things, shall we say, that's a serious vote of confidence! Personally, I agree - Phillips is going to be a stellar QB before he's through. And as gifted an athlete as he seems to be, I would hesitate to ask him to learn a new position. I have no doubt that the other QBs will push for the job, as we all expect, but if Phillips doesn't win the job, I would think the team would be better-served by having him practice and prepare every day to play QB, in case a switch is needed.

From what I (hear), Chris could help the cause by showing up at a few more of these summer workouts.:-(

Is it just me, or does Brad Kieschnick look like he's strapped on about 20 pounds since last year? I don't remember him looking that thick!

Heard that DD Lee and Phillips are out with sprained ankles. Sure hope that they get some workouts in before they report or it will be a long day against TT.

Eckert and Romo have been doing all of the passing in offseason workouts and they both look good-especiallly Eckert

Nice to have a little depth at QB, huh?

I would say our depth at QB is weak. We signed a couple of kids with very limited alternatives who have yet to prove a thing.

Agree with Stallion on QB situation. By the way, Muse will play from both LB and DE positions. He is working with both groups this summer.
