Anybody know what's going on here? Was he on track to be eligible after the fall semester and play in the bowl game?

I forgot what ineligible players can do at practice time.

I saw him at Senior day in the stands rooting for SMU with his family. I asked him if he was coming back next year and he told me he was

He has been working and also working out. He will re-enroll in SMU in January,so no he will not be eligible for the bowl game. He will however be able to rejoin the team for spring football and be a part of next season's team. Yes we have missed him. He is looking forward to being back with the team again. He's a wonderful kid who just didn't quite make it last spring. I don't think that's going to be a problem for him in the future.

I visited with his mother while in Hawaii. A very nice lady who was justifiably quite proud of her son!
