Re: FYI, good overview of some diffs btwn Navy & Army offensThanks for posting. Interesting twist on the option game.
It should be an exciting bowl game. I have a West Pont grad brother in law so this game is personal.
Re: FYI, good overview of some diffs btwn Navy & Army offensWow, Paul Johnson's offense is compared to the Run and Shoot??

Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad
Re: FYI, good overview of some diffs btwn Navy & Army offensI read an article ( and I think I posted it here when we played navy) where Paul Johnson talks about creating his offense not by starting with the wishbown and trying to add passing, but by starting with the run 'n shoot and trying to add more running. The running worked best for his guys and so it slowly became what he has now.
Apparently his ideal offense is a balanced offense where all passing is run 'n shoot style WR route options and all running is triple option. "I think Couchem is right."

Contests against the American military are always personal. Far East Conference

This reminds me of the Flying Wishbone offense that Hayden Fry tried here at SMU back in the early seventies when the Wishbone was in vogue throughout college football. It didn't work well and it didn't last long.
