The Thadsta's film rebroadcast was followed last night on ESPN-U at 11:00 PM PST by the Arkansas-SMU game replay from 1982 in Texas Stadium!

Amazing to actually watch CJ and ED in action. CJ was a great punter as well!

Thad is bringing more interest in SMU nationally by a single film then even the recent winning of JJ et. al.

Congratulations!

Apparently, that family in Ohio will indeed have renewed interest in SMU and our FB team as was one of Thad's goals!

Which Arkansas station you going to be on? I listen to 103.7 the Buzz while I work out and I would think that is the one since they are the top in the state and the ESPN affiliate. If you talk to them at 103 please ask if they have ever lost a game that was not due to bad officiating.

I'm on for 20 min. with Shawn Arnell and Wally Hall. 5:30 PM. Not sure the station in your market. Just told me they were on several different stations across the state.

That is 920 am out of Little Rock. At 6:00 they go on their fm station at 102.9 but you will be on the all sports am station. It is a good top rated station in the state. Conservative talk from 9:00 until 6:00 and then sports on the fm. The am station is all sports. I will switch channels tonight during my strenuous workout to listen to you.

Just to echo everyone else, great job Thad on the doc! It brought back so many wonderful memories of life on the Hilltop in the 80s. I lived close enough that I drove in from East Texas to watch SMU games in high school and attended many that you included. When I was in school, never missed a home game.

I called my college roommate in Chicago to give him the heads up to watch. We both graduated in 87 and remember sitting in my apartment watching Dale Hansen's interview with Stanley and knowing this was the end. I had completely forgotten the goofy student protests. My roommate had drifted away from the school, but we watched the Aloha Bowl together and we will be attending the military bowl game together. I suspect this, along with the success of June Jones, will help bring a lot of people back into the fold.

Congratulations Thad. It really has created a buzz about SMU football unlike anything around here in a long time, and that includes June Jones coming on board. I have not turned on a sports radio show in dallas where they weren't talking about the doc and talking about SMU football. Thanks!

Unbelievably good piece of work. I echo the sentiments of the many who have already posted how much they enjoyed the show. It brought me back to the mid-80s and then early 90s while I was in school. My kids who have been to many SMU games were amazed at the footage of ED, Lance, and Craig James running all over UT and the other powerhouses of today in front a big crowds. Your film was awesome and hopefully will generate renewed interest in the program and get some people out to the bowl game who otherwise had forgotten that not only do we still play football, but also that we are on our way back to relevance.

final Nielsen numbers aren't in ... But the early returns indicate Pony Excess is the highest rated ESPN documentary (premire) of all time. Cool, huh?

Right now we are officially at a 1.79 ... The U was at 1.74 the Monday following. They shot up to a 1.8 by the time everything was tallied. ESPN expects the same kind of bump for us by the time is all said and done and "all of the pricincts" are reporting.

The U premiered after last year's Heisman. And!!! Heisman viewership was down 33% from last year!!!

Again, cool, huh? Wow.

maybe it's because everyone here went out to watching parties thus reducing the number of sets it was on.
