Black Unis - Why the hate?

I don't understand all the whining over black unis. From my understanding white is not one of the colors either but everyone talks about how sharp the team looks in the all white unis. The red and blue is still incorporated into the black unis.

Everyone has white in their uniform, it is considered a neutral color.

welcome to all posters who suddenly have such a strong opinion about colors that were chosen for our University a Century ago. Personally I don't really care which colors you think look NEAT-O, cool or bitchin'. Perhaps a mistake was made when you decided to attend SMU and this was not disclosed to you. Or perhaps you never really attended SMU whereupon you should observe and respect our colors and traditions. Otherwise, Second Semester Classes at Texas Tech begin January 4, 2011, I hear Texas Tech will be playing in the Cotton Bowl on January 1, 2011-plenty of tickets still availiable

White uniforms are NCAA required for visiting teams with a few exceptions allowed. I think this basically applies to the jerseys only...pants can be any neutral or school color you want. We wear white neutral pants with our red or our blue jerseys and our visiting white jerseys.

Does it really matter what color the unis are as long as we're winning. As for neutral colors black is considered one. Stallion I do know the colors of SMU but I also know this is the new trend and think that all this complaining about what color unis we wear on the field is childish.

Proud Dad, if you have an opinion you should go to the Tech game and a mistake was made if you attended SMU.

No more so than people wanting to change things because it is trendy. Here today...gone tomorrow. It is the tradition and continuity that links the school's alums together. When your son comes back to campus ten...twenty years from now he will appreciate those things.
