Interesting Tweets from JJ's Agent

Postby RE Tycoon » Tue Dec 28, 2010 9:12 pm

Leigh Steinberg on Twitter

Interesting tweets form JJ's agent Leigh Steinberg. Definitely a shot across the bow and this leads me to believe that things are NOT good on the hilltop. Very rare for an agent to say something like this on such a public forum.

Leigh Steinberg wrote:My client June Jones,an exemplar of wonderful values and outstanding teacher turned down riches to continue building SMU FB program.

Leigh Steinberg wrote:Coach Jones will need help at SMU w facilities and streamlined admissions process to take the Mustang program up a rung to Top 20 level

wow..that is huge from someone's agent. Steinberg didnt put that out there without June telling him to.

So in short:

IFP.
Fix the admissions thing.

I wonder...does all this perhaps mean that one or more of our bigtime class coming up is likely to be denied admission?

I would not call it rare as much as I would call it new. Tweeting has not been around that long. I am sure in the past the agent would just say these lines to the administration. Now they can tweet and not only does the administration hear but so do all of the deep pockets. Now the deep pockets can step in without the administration needing to go begging. It actually seems like it would save a lot of time and effort. I would imagine Turner and Orsini are both being deluged with emails already.

Agree the content is not rare, I was making a point that it was done in such a public forum. Like you said typically this is said straight to the administration, which leads me to believe they have tried that avenue and failed. He must be very upset with Turner and company. I have no inside knowledge, so I'm not sure if he is justified or not.

Again not one of you are able to articulate the slightest scintilla of evidence what you are talking about. Make the case Big Boy-the floor is yours-what the hell are you talking about with regard to "admission process"

Fascinating, and somewhat disturbing, that JJ & co. decided they have to go public with this.

As for who is right/wrong, it doesn't matter ultimately.
All that matters is how each side perceives the other. JJ, apparently, feels he is getting the short end of the stick.

Jones has previously stated he wants:
1. Indoor Practice Facility
2, his vision during first year included expanding Ford to approx. 50,000
