Really, Prescott Realty? "The Boulevard?"Prescott Realty - what are you thinking? Naming your new mixed-use retail site near the SMU campus "The Boulevard"????
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/bus/stories/DN-greenville_29bus.ART.State.Edition1.7dab34.html SMU already has an established branding of The Boulevard. That's like building a project in College Station and calling it Kyle Field. Stupid, stupid, stupid. If Prescott doesn't come to its senses, it's going to be very confusing for years to come when someone references The Boulevard and SMU. Be orginal, Prescott, ya jackwagons!
Re: Really, Prescott Realty? "The Boulevard?"True. And I always thought the street SMU Boulevard might be very confusing to campus visitors trying to find the tailgating area.
Re: Really, Prescott Realty? "The Boulevard?"Who cares. Who are they going to confuse? The people that live in the Apartments?
We should be thankful they are going to put a nice center and nice apartments on long-time vacant land. Think before you just start bashing a company that is improving the neighborhood. DBB
Re: Really, Prescott Realty? "The Boulevard?"Good point. At least there's some differentiation between THE Boulevard and SMU Boulevard.
Re: Really, Prescott Realty? "The Boulevard?"Are the apartments rental or for sale? Wouldn't mind picking one up if they were priced right...
Re: Really, Prescott Realty? "The Boulevard?"I am sure they will be for rent. Mixed-Use deal with bottom floor retail.

Re: Really, Prescott Realty? "The Boulevard?"Have you been to/seen Twisted Root Burgers across the street, and by the DART rail? Same developers and the same plan in mind.
Re: Really, Prescott Realty? "The Boulevard?"It's going to be extremely confusing for a lot of reasons. "I"ll be at The Boulevard." "Which one?"
"Are you going to The Boulevard?" "Which one? The tailgate area or the shopping area? "What's The Boulevard? It's the football tailgate area. No, it's the mixed-use retail development near campus." It's a floor wax! It's a desert topping! Prescott is the one that should think before acting. The project exists to take advantage of the retail traffic and renters from the SMU community. You'd think they would research SMU names so as not to duplicate them or create confusion. Why would you rip off one of SMU's iconic names? Hey, let's call it Meadows Museum! Ignorant is ignorant, no matter how much they're "helping" the neighborhood. They're in it to make a buck. It's not a HUD project.
Re: Really, Prescott Realty? "The Boulevard?"
Re: Really, Prescott Realty? "The Boulevard?"They are merely apartments. If they were called Moody Apartments, would you show up there for Basketball games? I promise you not a SINGLE PERSON will show up at those apartments on Game Day for tailgating.
I am glad that they recognize SMU as MANY establishments around campus do nothing to promote the school. I bet there are not many apartments in the country named after a tailgate. DBB
Re: Really, Prescott Realty? "The Boulevard?"Great name, give them credit for having the guts to take a risk in this environment.
Re: Really, Prescott Realty? "The Boulevard?"
They're not taking the risk, you are through Fannie and Freddie providing permanent debt
Re: Really, Prescott Realty? "The Boulevard?""The Boulevard" has not been trademarked or registered by SMU, has it? Fair game, then. And all you'll have to do to differentiate is say "Boulevard Apartments" - the "The" will get dropped pretty easily in casual conversation, I would imagine.
Still, it's a pretty douchbaggy move on their part. Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.
Re: Really, Prescott Realty? "The Boulevard?"I still don't understand the uproar.
