The great thing is that we will have competition at all positions next year. We will for once have some depth and playing time will be more flexible. I think KP did have a learning curve in R&S 201 as did some of the receivers. Remember everyone is supposed to make reads during the play and run the pattern that the D gives you. Everyone is still learning and that was obvious this year. Yes, KP needs to learn to pump and look off receivers and not have such happy feet in the pocket. But yesterday, he showed that when plays were not developing, he could throw the ball away. He's a tough kid and has learned a lot. I want #2 to beat the Aggies in September with an onslaught like we beat Nevada.

Has June ever tried to recruit a JUCO WR? We'll probably be getting help for that unit from within. We do need some JUCO DBs though.

Padron stays as starter. He is getting better, maybe not as fast as fans may like. Yes, still staring down receivers, but not all the time. Did make so good off reads later in the game. I love his toughness, and JJ is more than a coach. He will bring in better and better QBs. As I've said, Preston is coming and a good find for us. Our day will come. Until then we have a KID still learning. Go Ponies!

June will play the best QB regardless of if he is a returning starter. Look at June's history, the QB who is out there is our best option. Padron did not work hard in the off season and that will change this off season. If his first option is not open, Padron had trouble checking down. But you also have to remember, he only played 5 games of high school football.

I know nothing of Kaiser . My issue with KP is accuracy , YAC, and Length of time before he makes his telepathic reads. He was the best we had at the time.
We will see what happens come spring ball.

Even surrounded with depth I do not see him suddenly able to make it work at the next level JMO.

Wish you could ask June and Jeff what they really think..

Have not be a fan of Kyle but think a bit differently today. Yep, all that One Trick said but Good Lord, the junk snaps yesterday ! I am starting to root for this kid. I think his biggest problem is nerves and his inability to work through it by kick off. If he gets a grip on his butterflies and starts playing 4 quarter's rather then 2 , I think next year we will see him again.

In watching the replay, he is not nearly as far off as I had thought. Minor adjustments and quicker reads and things could suddenly turn around from a scoring standpoint. Can he do it? I do not know. But I am not nearly as negative after watching the replay as I was during the game.

how much of the problem is aresult of a bad snap, that may or may not, distract kp ,etc...do we need a new center more than a new quarterback?

How could you watch that debacle a second time? I erased mine when I got home from the game.

Our center play was dismal. I felt the high "balloon" snaps cost Kyle seconds to make his reads. I wish Kyle would have more time at the line of scrimmage before the snap and June would do away with the sideline instructions on every play. Kyle is always rushing the clock and may need more time to look at the defensive allignment and to compose himself.
Did our play seem to improve when we went to the "hurry up" before half time?

I really disagree with all the "Padron to the sidelines" complaints. Other teams spend the same time with the QB looking to the sideline to read the signals. Padron gets back to the huddle with around 25 seconds which is plenty of time to call the play and read the defense. If there is a negative it would be from a stamina standpoint and that has not seemed to be an issue. When we are in a true 2 minute type offense he does not go to the sidelines unless the clock is stopped. When he gets back to the huddle, often the receivers have not gotten back to the huddle themselves.

Now if you want Oregon style, that is a whole different animal that I do not believe we have the players to handle. Malzahn ran a fast offense at Tulsa and does so at Auburn. Tulsa has continued to do so but since we have been able to handle them 3 of the last 4 years I will stick with what we have.
