So who is this guy?Wants nothing to do with the likes of SMU. Well yeah...TCU has come a long way, but SMU is heading the same direction...IMHO. Yes...I know I'm biased.
http://newsok.com/thorny-situation/article/3529590 SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: So who is this guy? When did TCU beat Boise St.?
Re: So who is this guy?
In the Poinsettia Bowl two years ago. Go Frogs! Pony Up!
Re: So who is this guy?Not very future-oriented thinking either especially when you want to shun Houston or SMU. Typical though.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.
Re: So who is this guy?
Didn't they beat them the year before their Fiesta Bowl game in a non-BCS bowl game in San Diego? Seems to me the Fiesta Bowl was their second consecutive bowl game against Boise. SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: So who is this guy?
It was more than 2 years buy a couple of weeks.... and do you really sit here and watch the boards for someone to say TCU sucks... You have a lot of issues.... TCU sucks...
Re: So who is this guy?TCU has beaten Boise St twice in Bowl games-2003 and 2008
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: So who is this guy?Close. They've lost twice and won once. December 23, 2003 Fort Worth Bowl L Boise State 31 34 December 23, 2008 Poinsettia Bowl W Boise State 17 16 January 4, 2010 Fiesta Bowl* L Boise State 10 17
Re: So who is this guy? It's clear to me that this writer would be saying the same thing about SMU or Houston if the situation were different, and dismissive in similar fashion towards TCU. Very weakly positioned argument.
Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.
Re: So who is this guy?Clear evidence that a moron with a newspaper job is still a moron.
Re: So who is this guy? These Big 10 teams belittle TCU's and Boise' schedule, but quite honestly who do they play? Generally their non-conference schedule is very weak and much of the Big Ten is extremely weak--Indiana? Purdue? Minn.?, in most years Illinois, Northwestern. I realize conferences change year to year and members get stronger and weaker. But a number of these teams would have struggled and lost to teams on TCU's schedule.
Re: So who is this guy?disagree
Re: So who is this guy?By your home address, I can see that you have bought into the Big Ten's strength and reputation. I grew up nearby and used to think the same, and every year the Big Ten Champion would go to the
Rose Bowl and get their asses handed to them by the Pac (Eight)Ten champs. As a youngster, I just couldn't figure out why? Oh, I left ot that powehouse of the year...the mighty Wolverines (That was for my obnoxious brother). Last edited by Mexmustang on Fri Jan 07, 2011 10:14 am, edited 1 time in total.
Re: So who is this guy?I hate the big 10...but its a brutal conference made for their elements...
I repeat myself all the time, but it is very difficult to walk into any big ten stadium as a visitor...
Re: So who is this guy?So very true, but then again the Rose Bowl is a neutral site--in most years.
