Also, glad the IFC did their thing. If they did that every game...even if it was just conference games...along with some additional student attendance...we'd look half decent

They just started rush earlier today - may have been a requirement to attend. Did Panhellenic do anything along these lines, too?
Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.

I assume this was the group behind the baseline. It was about four rows of dudes.

No hopping up and down like ACC or Iowa State/U-M but a bunch of dudes in coats standing up the whole game. A few of them were really into it and like the rest of the crowd, they all got into it down the stretch. It was definitely good to see them. There was also a significant contingent that sat behind the baseline. Some folks don't like rushing the court for beating an unranked team. I say what the heck. Have some fun!

A bunch of Memphis fans bought up the $25 tickets below us. Oh, and Gerald and Gail Turner were at the game representing.

Thankfully, IFC had their first good idea ever. They have made the game a mandatory event for all those students that are rushing fraternities. If I recall correctly that should be around 300 students. Plus, they have not yet joined fraternities so won't have any colors or shirts they are required to wear- so thankfully that will eliminate some of the ponyfans b*tching on that topic, if only for one game.

It would be prudent next year to ensure school is in session during Thanksgiving to accomodate a football game and start school the first week in January to ensure attendance at basketball games. When I was at SMU in the 60s the only Fall break was the day after Thanksgiving with finals ending roughly December 22. The second semester started the 2d week of January and Spring break was limited to the week after Easter. Bring back the old days for the sake of sports.
