Not the end of the world...good offense sets and good ball movement. The last play worked well, the shot just didnt go down....UH isnt normally a good FT shooting team but they out shot SMU on the line today. Even though there was limited subs, the guys looked well conditioned. The clock mangement was nice IMO.

I was very impressed with Dia today. Much more aggressive than I am used to seeing him play. Many blocks and strong to the hoop.

Went to eat my $500 meatball and there were no people and no food. I did not need the people but could have used some food.

I thought we looked OK today and the game could have easily been ours. 6-21 three pointers and any one of the misses would have won the game. The final play was very well executed. The refs gave us ZERO home calls in the final minute and UH bounced at least 5 FTs in off the rim....

The problem is we need wins like this, and we need to put a few good performances like this that result in Ws. Dia was immense today, Magrum (outside of his three-pointers) was great, and overall I thought we really knew what we were trying to do.

Next few games are critical. Time to build some self-belief.

Question:

Two assistant coaches. One looks like a Don and one looks like a chemistry professor. Who is who? They were both very active in the game.

UH was missing its center. Dia should have gone off, the guy guarding him was about 200 pounds. Whose our center going to be next year? I really wonder.

Tough loss.

I listened to the last 8 minutes on the radio. Sounded like a fun game to be at. In the way it was described, I didn't have a problem in how Matt played out the final minute. I guess there was an obvious travel call against UH that wasn't called?

That's kind of damned if you do, damned if you don't. We yell at officials to let the players decide the game and then get upset at them if they miss a call. Oh, weill.

Sounded like SMU got the shot it wanted. Just didn't go down.

But as someone on this board always preaches in nauseating fashion -- it's not about this year. So I will continue to follow the 2010-11 30-game exhibition season.

Very entertaining game and well matched. As you'd expect, the crowd was lighter than Wednesday -- no dudes in the risers. UH made a lot of threes which was basically the difference. McNeil being out was tough and Papa then had a huge game. Boy, #12 is quite a spark plug. I was real impressed with him Wednesday night.

The UH fans kept it entertaining enough. I thought the Memphis fans weren't very enthusiastic -- although their numbers were much higher. The Memphis players didn't seem into the game either.

Conference play seems much better for the Ponies.

If you don't think this is an exhibition season, you aren't checking out the end of the bench.

Hoopfan, Vilde is the center next year
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

I think I get the Nevada and UT transfers. What's the story on the UNT transfer? I assume he would be playing there now, but he wants to play in a bigger conference?

We offered a major at Cox that UNT didn't?
