West Virginia player quits in the middle of a game

According to multiple reports, the reserve forward left the Mountaineers bench early in the second half of Sunday's 56-46 victory over South Florida and did not return the rest of the game. An angry West Virginia coach Bob Huggins said in his postgame news conference that the absence was both "unexcused" and "inexcusable," adding that Jennings is "never to be seen again, I guess."

Well it was unexcused and inexcusable, but was it noticed until after the game? No mention as to whether or not the coach even knew the kid had left.

Do not use that phrase in June Jones' presence.

Huggins ain't exactly the Wade Phillips of basketball. That being said, I don't believe either can say that they've never had a player quit in the middle of the game.

Didn't Derrick Roberts leave the game after being benched for not passing the ball inside first before shooting a three? He was upset at doh getting in his face and yelling at him.

I am surprised someone from K State doesnt walk off from Frank Martin's intensity. When i see PFer's complain about Doh and his yelling.....take a look at Frank Martin and what he does with his players like he did with Spradling the freshman phenom, during the Baylor game tonight....he is a mean SOB....scary even.

Martin is a freak. Gary Williams has never had anyone walk off mid game, but in the last 5 years he's run off about as many coaches as Doh. Also pegged a ball boy in practice right in the noggin w/a ball. K has the foulest mouth in sport etc. Weird industry

I've said it all along, it will not surprise me if/when Frank Martin gets fired/sued/arrested for hitting one of his players. He scares the crap out of me.

The difference with Frank Martin vs. Doh is that outside of the games Martin is not that way. Listen to the broadcasters talk about him next time you see a K-State game. They're all amazed that he has a switch that gets flipped for games. He's not crazy, he's just passionate and intense during games. I don't really know if the players get fired up by Martin being fired up--or if they're scared s***less like you guys seem to be.

Regardless, Martin's getting fired up doesn't seem to have the same personal attack flavor that Doh's attacks have. Plus, it would appear that Martin can actually coach (look at what he's done with that historically moribund team). I would care a lot less about Doh's behavior if he was actually any good. I was Doh's biggest fanboy at one point. Now, I just hope that the assistants are doing the coaching while Doh does the recruiting. If he follows that formula, I'll be happy if he keeps the job, and I won't be surprised if we get better in a hurry.

Pretty sure that Doh sent him to the locker room, was understandable in my mind though. Coach was tired of SMU jacking up threes, so during half time, he stressed that no one was to shoot a three until so many passes, shot clock at a certain point, whatever.

So after the strategy session, the first possession of the second half, Roberts catches the first pass and launches and misses a three. Doh pulls him and after a couple of minutes, motions for him to hit the showers.

No long lasting effects, if I remember correctly, he was back in the lineup next game.
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

Martin is successful for one reason, Dalonte Hill & DC Assault. Let's not act like he can coach, cause he's doing a rather awful job this year. What they do a nice job of in Manhatten, is lining Curtis Malone's pockets. It'll unravel the second Hill takes a head position somewhere.
