Has Jeremiah Samarrippas earned a new nickname?"The Prophet"
While Jeremiah was a bullfrog, Jeremiah was also a Prophet. Point Guard was a huge question mark for us and I think we all that Doh was crazy. But Jfrog....I mean, The Prophet, has been my favorite player surprise this year. His energy, speed, and his poise have contributed to this teams cusa play and 4 game wining streak. It is amazing how the students make such a difference toward the atmosphere, wish they would always show up!
Re: Has Jeremiah Samarrippas earned a new nickname?I just hope for the sake of all of his hard work he doesnt get Taymon Domzalski-ed next year.
Who's Taymon, you ask? All-ACC Frosh team at Duke. Then his sophomore year was Elton Brand's freshman year. Didnt play after that. Hopefully there's still some pt for JFrog after this season
Re: Has Jeremiah Samarrippas earned a new nickname? He is still learning the college game but he brings tremendous energy to the table and is becoming a key player on both ends of the court.
Re: Has Jeremiah Samarrippas earned a new nickname?Jeremiah was a bullfrog, but Jeremiah IS a Pony.
Re: Has Jeremiah Samarrippas earned a new nickname?Jfrog or Frog is a phenomenal nickname that everyone calls him, so no need to mess w/it. He's been great, I credit the lack of pigtails.
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones
Re: Has Jeremiah Samarrippas earned a new nickname?Wasn't serious about giving the kid a nickname, just pointing out he has had some stellar play and probably everyone on this board doubted him. I know I didn't have a lot of faith in him or the rest of the team for cusa play. Glad they proved me wrong.
Re: Has Jeremiah Samarrippas earned a new nickname?
Oh i know, I've just seen others not like his nickname b/c of TCU or whatever. He's been great and is definitely proving me wrong “When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. Re: Has Jeremiah Samarrippas earned a new nickname? He was questionalble to me the first part of the season but has matured faster than i thought. Had a key steal last night during our comeback. Plays with hustle and guts, i see him get slamed around every game on the switches but get through.
Man, have they been fun to watch the last five games. I'm on board again even if Doh comes back for next year. Go Ponies.
Re: Has Jeremiah Samarrippas earned a new nickname?Ponydoh, with influx of talent coming in next year, does jfrog the prophet still start?
Re: Has Jeremiah Samarrippas earned a new nickname?I was never in doubt and FROG is fun to chant.
Re: Has Jeremiah Samarrippas earned a new nickname?I think J-Frog and Frog are great nicknames for a little guy playing basketball. I think he has been huge for us this season, and I will admit that I was deeply skeptical.
Mustangs Abu!

credit to Doh as a talent evaluator?
Re: Has Jeremiah Samarrippas earned a new nickname?
tough call. He's been clutch and really gets the offense moving, not to mention he has a nice assist to t.o ratio for a frosh. I think it all depends on whether or not Cotton can really play the role of distributor. Many consider him more of a combo, which would be more like a Dwill look, and we all know how stagnant that was. Also, they like Manual at PG as well, so it's a dogfight. “When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. Re: Has Jeremiah Samarrippas earned a new nickname?Samarrippas has that PG mentality...he'd rather dish than take on the scoring load...and we have needed that around here for a long time. He's shown he can hit when challenged/forced to, but he keeps the ball moving in this offense and I think he's been the key to this team's turnaround. Notice how the other guards have picked up their assist:turnover ratios as well. Gotta love it
