Outside of the North Texas Mean Green, hard to predict other mid-majors in the region that might fit the bill for playing at SMU.

A Southland team, perhaps?

Doubt its Oral Roberts, their release says they play Tuesday night and we play Wed...

Being told no television for any CIT first round games.

No bracket to speak of - just pairings with seeds. Top four seeds remaining after first round get a second-round bye into the 8-team quarterfinals. Lower eight remaining seeds after the first-round will play each other to advance to quarters. Teams are re-seeded in quarterfinals.

As for whether it's ORU or not, don't think the Tuesday-Wednesday confusion will ultimately have anything to do with it: SMU was gearing up for Tuesday night game until change of plans to Wednesday was made this morning. ORU could play either night.

Now, this championship is one game?

I think the CBI is best 2 of 3. CBI has a TV deal with HDnet -- at least it did for the last 2 years.

I was hoping they would at least televise the unveiling of the first round games on ESPN or CBSC.

From wiki:
The 24th team will be the winner of the 2011 Great West Conference Men's Basketball Tournament (which receives an automatic bid).

Houston Baptist is in the semi-finals. Don't really know if they have a chance to win.

strikes me as a very realistic investment in SMU's basketball future; can't imagine we would have been in consideration for even a CBI bid, so getting in on this tourney and buying a home game at what will undoubtedly be a loss is a sign SMU is committed to raising it's profile

wish I was in Dallas and could rally friends and former classmates to step up and attend this game

sure hope the 1500 come out of hiding to support this team; if nothing else, a little appreciation for Papa Dia's season/career/decision to attend SMU

this might even be a level of play where we can compete and win a game or two

HDnet has basketball scheduled on Tuesday and Wednesday, from 5:00-9:00. Does not say who.

Tuesday and Wednesday on HDnet are apparently NCAA play in games. It now lists games in Dayton.

Those games are on TruTV. I think there is a difference. If you have Dish Network, TruTV is 204. HDnet is 362.

Dish has Dayton games on both Tru and HDnet.
