SMU vs. Baylor 2012-2019

Postby Mitch McConnell » Wed Mar 30, 2011 2:43 pm

Did we know this series had been extended this long? I sure didn't.

According to Baylor's athletic web site, they have SMU on the schedule. It looks like it's pretty much home and home all the way.

I think PFans.com has it stopped in 2015 or something like that.

Just passing this along.

Yes, I was surfing through all of the Texas DI schedules today.

Yeah, at least they wont be mooching all our beer on the boulevard like those cheapskate TCU fans.

Cant wait to set up the dance floor with disco lights and everything next to our blvd spot.

This is a no-brainer...We should schedule our "natural rivals" in perpetuity. The baptists and tcuseless should be on our schedule until the rapture (using a fundamentalist reference for our baptist friends so they can understand).

There is nothing more brutal and cutthroat than a good religious war. As a backsliding Episcopalian, I am happy to throw in my lot with the Methodists vs. the Baptists any day of the week. They don't spend much money in the bars, but they buy a good number of tickets and surely their presence will encourage the students to come out to the games. This is what I miss about the old SWC. It really helps to play someone we know and hate so intimately. In the best Christian way possible.

what's really promising about those schedules-is that note they have been revised to reflect only 3 non-conference games for Baylor. Since the Big 12 now only has 10 teams they will play 9 conference and 3(rather than 4) non-conference games. If they are played these are going to be some real good money games-note many are season openers.

Noticed that too, which is good since they had to ax us this year with the extra conference game they added.

Also, we are definitely the most challenging non-conference opponent they will have for the rest of this decade.
A heavy dose of UTSA, Rice and Duke on there...lol

to Baylor's credit they did have to drop someone but they agreed to back load additional games. That's reasonable

Statler-

as the resident Baptist minister, I understand 5X5.

There is NO team I wish to beat more than Baylor. I root for whomever plays Baylor on the Saturdays we do not. Even with a favorable discount allowed for Baptist clergy, no daughter or son of mine will EVER enroll at, or matriculate from 'Jerusalem on the Brazos.'

I will wear red and blue in the pulpit the week before and after our game with those people, as I will on September 4 this year. Unreconstructed, and fervently unrepentant.

If you allow Baylor fans to your tailgate, make sure there are two or more. If there is just one you will be left wondering where your beer went. No school has more closet drinkers than Waco U. Believe it. Looks like they have replaced us with you guys BTW.

I had to fix it. Their bookstore is a prime location. Grab a mag off the rack for casual reading if needed.
