Wonder how long it will take? We need some assistant help in here fast, well before the open period. FWW, I still keep hearing Pooh

Yes, I'm quoting my own quote, lol. I've had a night to marinate on hiring another search firm, the same firm that hamstrung us w/Hobbie on the trail. Why do we keep wasting time? Whose pockets are getting lined? Just hire Pooh, ask Stephen Woods if he wants to move from Houston to run ops, and move the eff on.

So, while Reggie sets up visits of our old recruits to TCU, we pay Eastman & Beaudine to hand us Pooh. The red tape at SMU is ridiculous. Beyond that, there is so much turmoil in Texas basketball this year, good coaches are everywhere. You have to act!

and 10 minutes later, I hear the reports of a search firm are untrue. ProfX, can you verify Eastman & Beaudine either way, or was that just scuttlebutt? I've heard they've been retained, but for a new ticket manager, not for an assistant coach

Ticket manager? If that's true, then they truly are a full-service firm!

I guess, sounded weird to me as well. The gentleman who told me about it though, spoke w/reps at Eastman/Beaudine yesterday, regarding a wholly separate search

I guess you could call it scuttlebutt, I'm out of Dallas, and hearing this from people at home. They were adamant, though, that Robert Beaudine was handling the search. Perhaps they meant him individually, and not the firm? Dont know, I'll inquire when I get back.

Well, one way or another, they need to get hires in place and soon. We need June to get the open period planned in July. I'm sick of chasing our tail before the most important recruitng stretch, every single year. Right now, 4 to give. I like the top 9 and all, but we need impact kids from now until forever.

I find it a little weird that Maryland can hire a staff of elite recruiting assistant coaches in about 10 minutes, and we're taking weeks - maybe with a search firm, maybe without - to make a hire that most think is a done deal?

Its definitely pretty strange. I know Marylands staff is using this time to get on the same page about July. No idea how Doh is using it. We haven't been publically mentioned w/a kid awhile.
