As for the 2-deep at PK: Wolcott has tremendous mechanics - he's able to repeat the exact same swing just about every time, like you want to do with a golf club. But his leg isn't as strong as McMurtray's, and he doesn't get the ball up as fast. And it doesn't matter how the backups look -- McMurtray is the man until he graduates.

.....
Here again, our issue is offensive scoring, not Special Teams.

But, since you & Mr Mustang brought it up, the "K" Wolcott was going to walk-on at Tech-- never offered a TT scholarship.

Yes, McMurtray is the leading kicker.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could get enough offense that we could have a kicker "Controversy"? Let's dicuss TD's... not PATs!

Maybe I'm the only one who finds about half this post absurd. Wolcott was going to walk on at Texas Tech and was the last person to recieve a scholarhip from his class. It was only after certain recruits committed to other schools was Bennett able to give the "Highland Park grandson of Doak Walker" a scholarship. I'm sure it was all talent and no politics in that choice. Then Pony Tales rattled something off about his great mechanics and just not having the leg. I'll agree with half and say he doesn't have the leg but his mechanics need a huge improvement if he seriosuly wants to play in his career here. The fact that someone even says he is on the sidelines is just not true. He is not on the travel squad, unless you refer to home games when every player gets to dress out regardless of how bad they are. Also, Wolcott was not even second on the depth chart for two-a-days or now for that matter. All that side McMurtray is 2 for 2 and has consistently put the ball in the end zone. So maybe yall need to go back and watch some tape and come back to me with your next conspiracy theory. My guess is Adami. Maybe through your view he needs to go.

Wow - are you one of the other kickers or something? Why rail on Wolcott?

Holy toledo! My original post was meant 'tongue-in-cheek' about getting some points on the board. Sorry I brought it up.
