Game Day Predictions

SMU 31 UTEP 14

UTEP starting over on offense with 1 returning starter. SMU should stop UTEP's running game which was anemic against Stony Brook. The same players who were overmatched on defense against A&M will overmatch UTEP tonite. Lack of UTEP running game will allow SMU to attack UTEP QB. SMU has the best defense in CUSA West and needs to dominate on Defense. Line will run wild in this game. The thing I'm waiting to see is if SMU has an intermediate and long ball passing game. We've got some tough games on our schedule this year but this shouldn't be one of them

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

I agree with you. Plus, UTEP usually doesn't play as well on the road. SMU can't let their qb get confidence early. Our defense better not give up more than 17 points. Pony Up!

The key to the spread offence is accurate throwing from the quarterback. Haven't seen a lot of that from SMU in the past several games. We have a solid offensive line, a number of talented receivers and an all-conference running back. But we need better play from the qb.

Sorry, but I'm not sold on J.W. McDermott. After all, he transferred from New Mexico State because he couldn't win the starting position there.

And I still haven't forgotten how badly UTEP beat us last year. I'm still hoping for a close
victory for the Mustangs.
