Remember When...

Postby ClickClack » Sun Sep 11, 2011 9:57 am

We were just happy to get a Win no matter how ugly it was....we sure have come a long way.

With that being said...the Offense needs to get its act in gear...The problem isn't the O Line or RB...That leaves the receivers and qb to blame...I think they can share responsibility...its probably a little of both...The receivers are really underwhelming and I don't think JJ or KP are the answer to lead this offense to the high octane machine it should be.

When you invest as little as we did, that's what you get- happy for anything. When you invest as much as we are, sorry, expect more- much more.

I totally sympathize with the unabashed joy of doing anything positive when you pay Phil and Jerry 600K, hamper them somewhat with admissions and administration roadblocks, litter your schedule with body bag games, and don't make tangible, sound investments in building a successful program.

Some of us have lower than necessary expectations because we remember losing to Arkansas State and being unable to score with a first down on the one yard line against Rice TWICE in the same game. The previous administration, hampered as they were by academic and other recruiting limits, spent more time practicing the swinging gate than on teaching the defensive players how to wrap up when they tackle. I am happy that those days are behind us.

I think benching Kyle says a lot about expectations.

Last time we tried 4 times to score from the one yard line wew did not have this good an OL and did not have Zach Line...but if that doesn't work, we might see a DT at FB
