4-3 instead of 3-4?

Postby sacklunch » Sun Sep 11, 2011 4:27 pm

I know June is stubborn but I've been thinking if we're weak at linebacker, why not just put Margus in and run a 4-3.......Thoughts?

We had a 4-3 at first then switched to a 3-4 due the us not have good d lineman at the time.

3 thoughts:

1) Who said we have a weak LB group? We have 2 guys who have just become starters this year, and who I believe will be just fine (Rogers and Jones).

2) Margus was less effective last year when he played more time. I think he is better when he is able to play in a rotation to keep him fresh the whole game.

3) A 4-3 defense will really limit JaGared's opportunities to rush the QB, which to me is the biggest reason why I would not go to a 4-3 until he graduates.

I think he is referring to the fact that 2 LB's went down to injury in the game.
