We're down on him for his college performance on and off the field. Obviously, June is as well...bc KP has been benched. As soon as he proves that he is capable, june will put him back in. This could be June's attempt to light some fire under his [deleted] to help him progress or it could be because June believes he has lost it mentally. Either way June now believes JJ deserves the starting spot.

People perform at a higher level when their is a lot of competition for the starting spot. I believe Padron had a rough season last year because he didn't have a lot of quality behind him in the depth chart. This year JJ has proven he understands the system...he may not be making every play, but he deserves the starting spot in Junes eyes. The additions of Conner Preston and Stephen Kaiser (now healthy) also create a more competitive environment for our QBs. All of this will be resolved soon. KP will learn and grow and possibly start next year....worst case scenario, we have two quality guys behind him.

June knows what he is doing. That is why he gets paid 2 million dollars a year to coach. Have faith in our staff. We are winning games. Last year, if we played that horribly against utep, we wouldn't have won...this year we did. I'm happy so far. Each game, I can see real progress. We almost shut out a team last game (cough thanks padron) and won by the largest margin since the hawaii bowl. The qb situation is a minor hiccup. Let's not worry too much about it. One of them will step up soon.

In the meantime, Go Mustangs! Beat Memphis!

I don't care if KP or JJ is out there as long as we are winning games.

Barring season-ending injuries, it's ridiculous to suggest that anyone, especially a record-setting quarterback, is "done for the year." He'll play this week, and chances are he'll start again before the year is over ... which, based on Coach Jones's track record, is fine. He can start Margus Hunt at quarterback if he wants to, as long as we win games.

How is KP done?

That fumble was near the end of the game so what.

This is the game for JJ to figure out who's gonna be the guy for the next 4 games, and it might be KP and McDLT to keep the hot side hot and the cold side cold

I don't think KP is done. I do think that JJ is the starter unless he plays himself out of the position. In a close game that means that JJ will take all the snaps. In a blow out, KP will get some reps. In certain situations, like the need for some bombs, KP may see some snaps because he has the stronger arm. But, he's now the second string QB. The benching in the Aggie game is a carry-over from the end of last season when KP had happy feet and did not make good quick reads. Just replay the game against UCF and the game against Army and know that KP was just not good enough to get us down the field to win the games even though both games were winnable games.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
