early on, I was thinking McDermott does not look very accurate, does not throw a "catchable" ball (meaning he drills some when guys are wide open and I would like to see more touch) and that he often drops sidearm and he too often doesn't get his feet set before throwing .
As the game went on, I thought he was developing better timing with some of the guys, most notably D.J. and D.T.
I guess we will find out next week what this team has with McDermott at QB

I will say why not give KP a chance up by 35 pts. Makes no sense.
JJ clearly has no intention of playing KP in the near future. That's the only reason I can think of why he would have JJMcD play the entire game - to get him tuned up for the tcu game/next few games. I think the "evaluation" period is over for the short term anyway.

Pretty clear message was sent today - KP isn't playing QB again until McD gets injured or graduates. It's a blowout and McD played the ENTIRE game. I'm fine with it. Best parts about today are: the first true long TD pass of the season and the way McD was spreading the ball around.

McDermott needs the reps; we have a very capable backup if we need him. We should feel better about our QB situation than we have in years

McDermott's feet aren't gonna get any quicker no matter how many reps he gets against Memphis and NW State. He's got a bit of the gunslinger in him too, drop down three quarters and throw off the back foot when pressured. BLM situation all over again. people said the same thing about BLM needing reps and liking our depth with JW at backup. 2 qbs = no qb. And backups can win the job, McD just hasn't.

If today doesn't convince you McD 'won the job' I'm not sure what will. He played the entire game of a 42-0 blowout. Padron didn't even get a chance to run it in from a few yards out on the goal line, so June either wanted to give McD all the reps and/or still doesn't completely trust KP. I don't care either way who the QB is. I just want to keep winning. But McD is driving the bus for now.

To me McD is very inconsistent. Sometimes he is accurate and sometimes very poor accuracy. His timing on the short passes looks poor much of the time. Compared to the passing ability of the QBs in the OSU-A&M game McD is terrible.

Do people honestly feel like MCD is a good QB after watching all his throws this year? I mean he doesn't throw with great accuracy, thows a wobbely low velocity ball, can't throw the deep ball, and has made plenty of bonehead decisions (but apparently that only matters if you are KP). He was basically stuffed in the 2nd half of the A&M game, did very little against UTEP (and should have had more int), and was unimpressive against the weakest competition a D1 team will face.

If we played the Aggies today-its very possible the first two TD passes would have been picked off-CB never turned around despite being in position. He fumbles in the End Zone-could have been TD. Also threw a bad Int. I'm not really taking a position but to compare success against Patsy, Nancy and Judy is just not the complete picture. I have no doubt that with the time the QB had today-Padron would have riddled that Defense at least as bad. We're going to see a better test in coming weeks although TCU looks pretty poor in Secondary. Padron should stay ready

I have no idea what's going on w/June & Padron, but it's thrown a huge wet blanket on the season for me. We can be pretty good, and TCU is vulnerable. I hope this doesn't bite us, cause JJ's ceiling in so low compared to KP.
