45k,~50k including SRO, expandable to 55k + SRO.
Seating of 40k. Future expansion can get to 50k
Those were the initial figures. They didn't include the East side renovation + the additional West side upper deck.

It will be. I don't know how much it costs this year.

Frogs raise over 100 mil in less than 2 weeks. Build a stadium everyone can be proud of...and they win. Don't apologize dude. Wish SMU could borrow the blueprints. No leadership on the hilltop. Marketing?

no leadership on the hilltop? Are you awake? we are 550 million into a 750 million campaign - basically 2 yrs ahead of our target - the most successful campaign in the country right now in the worst economy in 70 yrs - We are light years ahead of froggie on student quality. The ONLY thing they are better at is football - and that wont last much longer

Since this is a Football thread, the comment was directed at the football program. It can also be said about the basketball program and baseball program. Oh I forgot, we have soccer........yawn..........Beating 3 mediocre teams does not make a season. You need to take off the rose-colored glasses.

I'm not partial to any school (re: my sig) but would argue against every point you've brought up. - TCU has had several campaigns in the same time-frame as SMU's 750$mm and have surpassed both (the latest one yielding 400$mm+) - TCU has been gaining round in the US News and World Report rankings (which, yes, are complete b.s.) whereas SMU has lost ground - TCU had ~20k+ true applications becoming the 2nd most selective school in Texas (2nd to Rice by a longggg shot) - Top 25 in nearly 90% of athletic teams fielded - The data here and here (which is years old, btw - check SMU & TCU IR for current data) would suggest that SMU isn't "lightyears" ahead of TCU with regards to student quality. I love SMU and I love TCU but to say either is blowing the other out of the water is hogwash. Regardless, both are excellent selective institutions.

Park at Paschal, stop by a tailgate! There's very limited spaces this year for tailgating.

That stadium and atmosphere is going to be wonderful for yall. After being caught up in the masses at tamu I can tell you it may look good on tv with 86,000 but it is a mass of humanity that is very uncomfortable. A 40-50,000 seat stadium that is filled and has the amenities needed is so much better! And the traffic and tailgating! Much better. Bigger is not better! Quality over quantity!

Lipstick on a Pig. The crowd in Amon Carter is still going to feel like you're attending a game at Tarleton State...jean suspenders and camo coveralls (granted, wearing TCU hats), painted tractors on the field made to look like Gol Worm and SuperFrog had a horrible offspring, "rah rah", "sis-boom-bah" and "beat the hell outta you"s. Just like, no matter what they do, an A&M game will feel like your trapped in some sort of foreign cult-military expo. If TCU hasn't renovated the Student/Visitor gate yet, they should have. That gate sits at the bottom of a hill with little drainage so that when it rains, mud and rocks flow down the hill and onto the concourse and water drips from the ceiling. A lot of the concessions are located on that side and it doesn't take much to make that area a slop-house on par with old Texas Stadium. Yuck.

I hope to make a trip over to the renovated stadium in a couple of years.

What you are referring to is the East side and it will be demolished after the last game of the year and completely rebuilt. EVERYTHING will be redone. The only thing original will be the first few rows of the lower bowl and even that will be refurbished.
