The Only Good Thing of the Wasted Evening

Postby Captain E J Smith » Sat Oct 16, 2004 9:09 pm

They didn't have the Band Miked. and we won Half Time. It was good to see the 89 team, they were fun to watch back then. Can we turn over the coaching to Forest?

Other than that, a great evening for arranging deck chairs and the stewards did not run out of ice.

Full Steam ahead!!

From what I've heard, unless you are sitting in the stadium sweet spot, your question would be more like:

wha wha t's t's wr wr ong ong with with hav hav ing ing the the ba ba nd nd mi mi ked ked

I don't see any need to mike the band. From my seat on the east side, south 30 yard line, I heard the SMU band just fine. I was impressed by the way the sound carried to us in the stadium, even though we were on the same side, but different end, of the field.

For a band of less than 100, the SMU band has a pretty big sound. I guess that's because it is predominantly brass.

Good job, SMU band.

:?: latech77, I do not understand why you guy's are STILL on the SMU site? You have a big game in FIVE days, shouldn't you be on the UTEP board? Or even better, try your own site!

Remember a couple years ago when during pregame they would play varsity over the PA while the band was also playing it? That's what it sounds like all the time in 90% of the stadium with the mics on the band.

What did I say to deserve that, 2112? Okay, you're right. We do have a big game this week. I'm gone. You can rest easy now.

Does it really sound bad? I figured anything that made us louder was a good thing, but if it sounds crappy, then we should get rid of it.............like the drum line.................

Nice parallel. A lot of money spent with no results.
