Bryan McCann signs 2-year contract

Postby PonyPride » Tue Oct 04, 2011 11:01 am

Former SMU cornerback Bryan McCann has signed a two-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens, according to his agent, John Biggins. The deal represents the second stint in Baltimore for McCann, who was released Sept. 20 by the Dallas Cowboys. He spent a week with the Ravens after being released by Dallas at the end of training camp in 2010. Biggins said McCann will play cornerback and on special teams, and will return punts and kickoffs for the Ravens.

McCann chose to sign with the Ravens after also receiving interest from the Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans, St. Louis Rams and Denver Broncos.

Probably a playoff team and he gets to guard E Sanders twice a year. Way to go McCann! Go Mustangs!

He played last week and had one catch. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/boxscore;_y ... 0111002034

He was the targeted receiver on one of Pittsburgh's last plays and was in position to make a big TD catch except the ball was overthrown.

apparently, he had a terrible game against the colts 2 wks ago:

WHAT WAS HE THINKING?
When WR Emmanuel Sanders dropped a perfect third-down pass down the middle from Roethlisberger on the opening series, forcing the Steelers to settle for a field goal, it was an execution mistake. But when he carelessly jumped over safety Joe Lefeged after a second-quarter interception and failed to touch him down, that was an inexcusable mental mistake. And offensive coordinator Bruce Arians was not very happy. Lefeged got up and ran 25 yards to the Steelers 25, setting up a field goal that gave the Colts a 13-10 lead with 15 seconds remaining.

I watched bits of last week's game and saw a number of plays where he wasn't in the line-up. he may be partially in the doghouse.

rumors on the boards is that a practice squad spot just opened up the other day (Raiders) and that many are expecting him to be re-signed.
