Just trying to be realistic about the timeline. All of this stuff won't be sorted out until MU and Boise show their cards. No reason to do so now. Therefore no reason for the BE to be too hasty. We might get in. We might get in. We might not. But it's not a done deal.

No need for all that. We will probably know how things will play out around bowl time. Just keep winning and stay top of mind. BE is playing this the right way. But I think they might be underestimating the Big 12 making a play for Boise.

I highly doubt the Big 12 wants Boise. Texas and to a lesser extent, OU, do not want to add a team that would make it more difficult for them to reach the NCG.
Some people simply forget just how bad it was...

Yeah you have a point. I think they will go all-in for BYU.

UT and OU have pressed for only 10 teams for a while. And they really can't take a BE team until 2014 at the earliest. By then, the Big East will have retained its AQ status, even if teams leave after that. I guess they put full court press on BYU for 10 and stay there.

Of course, I know nothing.

And Boise isn't available for 2012...unless they lose a game or someone wants to pay the $21 mil to get them out of the MWC.

ideal for us would be if they just take BYU. I think they will do more though. with the SEC making a direct strike into Big 12 territory in Missouri, I think that makes it likely that one of the Big 12 counter moves will be Louisville. Why? Louisville is in the SEC's backyard so it retaliates a bit market wise. Other than that, Louisville is a goofy choice for the Big12 in my opinion, partcularly since they are terrible right now in football.

Re-read that last sentence you wrote and you might figure out why they want Louisville.

Louisville is on the northern tip of SEC country and in a basketball state to boot. There are reasons to take Louisville, but poaching SEC football isn't one of them.
