Comment from sideline reporter

Post by GeorgiaMustang »

The sideline reporter commented after one of our less than stellar drives that he was surprised to see the o-line and other position groups sitting alone without any coaches, or players for that matter, trying to "rally the troops". He went on to say that each coach has his own style, but I agree with the commentators that if what you're doing isn't working, change the approach. I do like June's teaching approach, but the guys needed, this week and last, someone to rip into them to get them going. Look at Saban and some of the other big time coaches. They get fired up. The players need someone to tell them to suck it up and pull their heads out of their rear ends!
Those who complain about a problem are simply wasting time they could use to fix it.

Potential is nothing, performance is everything.

Exactly! That's what was so frustrating to see... kids need a kick in the [deleted] sometimes...a wake up call during the game...something.

Not a new complaint about JJ and his most of his crew. Very mellow bunch.

Mellow is one thing, but usually even mellow people get fired up every now and then.

Where's Neuheisel and his guitar when you need him?

I think Jones and his crew are good Xs and Os guys - they have very good schemes. But there's more to coaching than that ... don't get me wrong, they are the best we've had since the DP but ...

Just had dinner with a friend who is a "coach" for I believe 4th grade soccer team. They played final game today vs the bsest team.
He told them prior to the game that he was near the opposing teams bench and heard them saying they were a bunch of girls, wore skirts, and liked pink.

His team got fired up and won against someone they shouldn't have beat.
