Re: BE should invite KU and K-State
KU decided to go after the kids with 3 high schools and diploma mills this year-they ended up with 3 non-qualifiers and have only 8 scholarship players this year. Some of those transcripts got flagged by the NCAA because KU thought they qualified

You're high. AAU is a big deal and it is very hard to get. It just means you're a big time research school, which doesn't matter at schools like SMU. It matters to the Big 10.
It USED to matter. As NU has proven. What matters now is football and the associated money. That's all. Anything else is lip service.
It still does matter for Big 10, which is what we're talking about. ND is the exception, but when you're a top 25 school the Big 10 will "look the other way." It's been stated both publically and privately that Nebraska never gets the Big 10 invite without their AAU. They may get it back with the research money they now get from being in the Big 10, but it was a black eye. This is why no school (note named ND) without solid AAU standing will be admitted.

McLemore was the only one they "went after" -- and it was total BS that he wasn't admitted. Fortunately, he and Traylor were able to receive aid so they'll be Jayhawks next year. KU had to reach on the other two kids (Traylor and Anderson) due to several early NBA departures coupled with finishing second on a couple of their #1 choices. When you run a clean program, you finish 2nd more than you like.

Between all of the blueblood basketball schools it appears that KU and Duke run the cleanest programs. Georgetown, Kentucky and Cuse have had some troubled pasts. I will say that KU's approach to the football program is embarassing for the Big 12, yes KU has a great BBall program but at some point they really need to make some changes (spend more money on FB) or they'll be outside looking in even with their AAU accomplishment. This stuff is all about money and all the money is in football.
You should post this on the basketball board so Hoopmanx can respond

So the delay of the official Big East expansion announcement is due to KU and KSU desperately pleading to join the Big East and escape BEVO?

Why would the big east want either of these teams? Nobody cares about anything in Kansas - there is no extra tv revenue coming to the big east if they add these teams.
