Re: Announced Attendance?
Homecoming and a beautiful day as well. Disappointing we can't draw 25k but it was slightly better than years past.
Need more students interested year over year which hopefully will translate to more alumni who are interested and might in the future bring family and friends
The game day experience and the "Vard need to be very inclusive so people not associated directly with SMU can enjoy the total package and want to return and bring their friends. After all, SMU wants to be Dallas' team, right???

Definitely true, just need to make the vard an excluse event to SMU. I missed the last home game against TCU. Best game I will probably be able to go to in such a long time. I mean the atmosphere made you feel like what it was like in the old SWC days.

I wonder if this could be added to the students/people who get wristbands to drink from the cops/university
Re: Announced Attendance?
With the impending BE move funding will be much easier to come by to begin seriously marketing the program.
I've said on here before that a concerted effort should be made to market the Boulevard to our business community. Set up a corporate area and market games to businesses to bring their employees and families to games. It is a great environment for families and if we expose our product some will come back. In addition, this is a way to involve the local business community, raise funds, put butts in seats, etc.
I believe this could easily evolve to an additional 5,000 per game if the Mustang Club gets organized because it is such a cost effective way for businesses to do someting enjoyable for theim employees/families at a very affordable cost.

Re: Announced Attendance?
Blvd was packed and the attendence really wasnt a whole lot better than a normal week. Still have a problem moving the people from the Blvd to the game.
ALthough I pay for my tickets I wouldnt be opposed to giving em away to get people in the stands or selling them for next to nothing, like a buck a ticket.

Re: Announced Attendance?
For all the worrying we do about attendance, think about how good its going to be next year (barring buyouts):
Home Games:
SFA (season opener has to have 25,000+)
TAMU (unbelievably beyond anything Ford has ever seen packed)
TCU (Packed)
Houston (Calling it now, 23,000)
Tulsa (22,000)
USM (24,000)
Memphis (I bet they schedule this for fall break, 17,000)
By the way, 7 home games... treat ourselves.

NY Pony speaks truth!
Add a coroporate marketing angle to our fundraising and we can boost the Memphis, Tulsa, SF Austin and Houston attendence as well.

Re: Announced Attendance?
If that indeed ends up being our schedule next year we need to not sell individual tickets to the A&M or TCU game. Give A&M and TCU their allotment and make everyone else buy season tickets if they want to go to those games.

Re: Announced Attendance?
Tickets being sold does not equate to butts in seats. However, if people are only interested in those two games then they can donate the rest of the tickets to hopefully people that will use them.
Re: Announced Attendance?
The A & M game will be bought out and we will probably be in the BE for scheduling....its all in the works.

Re: Announced Attendance?
I was late leaving the Blvd to get into the stadium. I wasn't paying attention to the time and actually thought the game could NOT have started yet because of the large number of people still on the BVD. I was shocked to realize that many people ( a very large number!!) were not going to the game.
Long live Inez Perez!
