Facilities QuestionHow does Crum and a renovated Moody compare to existing BE teams’ facilities?
Re: Facilities QuestionCrum is a better than the practice facility at Louisville, but they have a new arena in downtown that just opened last year. Seats 20000 I believe. Sold out every game.

Re: Facilities QuestionConsidering that the Mavs use Crum as a pre-season practice facility it is about as good as it gets. Moody is the ideal size for college basketball but does need the planned facelift. Once the remodeling of Moody is completed it will be a top 25 facility. Keep in mind that many Big East teams play in NBA arenas (Georgetown, St John's, Villanova, Marquette, etc.) so you really can't use those arenas as benchmarks.
Re: Facilities QuestionI was in the Villanova gym this last summer to watch some tennis. It isn't larger than Moody but it is a little imposing looking at all the conference and NCAA banners and player jerseys hanging on the wall.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pavilion My guess is we wouldn't draw enough to the game to make them move it to the NBA arena in Philly (but one can hope).
Re: Facilities QuestionWe're fine facility-wise. Half the Big East plays at NBA arenas that are maybe 1/3 full, awful game environments all year, except that one big game on TV etc. Those that play on campus aren't in any better shape than we are, probably worse, b/c they are urban catholic schools where everything is old historic and grungy.
Seriously, kids like Brian Bernardi and freak out at SMU b/c they've been playing in broom closets since birth. No offense Gaucho gym, I've got love for you
Re: Facilities QuestionNot sure what a practice facility for basketball needs, but the Mavs seem to prefer Crum over their facilities. Here is a link to videos and description. Biggest thing seems to be that it is specifically designed for bb and the amenities are made for bb height people. Also is open 24/7 for players.
Re: Facilities QuestionWith all the money we have spend and will spend on renovations and construction for basketball I would hope that it would be competitive.
Re: Facilities QuestionWhen are the Moody renovations going to happen? After this season?

Facilities QuestionI believe it starts next spring, but I don't remember exactly. I think I heard right after this season, but I'm not confident in that.

Re: Facilities Questionimmediate from what I heard...The cash was partially donated because bush library needed a place for speaking events, so it is to be done in conjunction...
Re: Facilities QuestionThat's great news. Moody is a jewel. I hope they bring in someone who knows what they are doing.

Facilities Question
this is what I recall, but I wasn't positive. "This is . . . dedication to distraction by fans. Is that what I'm going to go with Jay?"

Re: Facilities Question
Only have room for so much construction equipment. Bush Library construction is across the street and new dorm construction is just down the street.
