Why the difference? He started with a Hawaii coming off 2 winless seasons in a row right?

His predecessor at Hawaii left him with much better talent than his predecessor at SMU.

They were also playing in the WAC.

And half the teams they played were on a road trip to Hawaii, at night in Hawaii. A bunch of jet lagged 18-22 year olds on their first trip to Hawaii--recipe for a bad defensive effort from your untalented WAC football team.

Screw Hawaii. I'm sick of leis, aloha shirts, Hawaiian references in general. Were there any shadows with Houston's lights?

Competition was weak, according to June. CUSA was a big upgrade from the WAC.

yes, time to stop with the Hawaii comparisons. Took him 11 years to get to where he was in '07, different conference, different recruiting, different time.

You and I have our differences, but you may remember when I pointed this out about two years when I started to sour on Jones. And you backed me up on this.

11 years? He started working with Hawaii when he was still coaching the Falcons?
