Players want to go to an out of town Bowl

Mutiny?

I have no idea; the players seem very loyal to JJ. The team is better than what they showed. Not sure what is wrong, can't put my finger on it.

You nailed it, Mitch. I believe Jones has been doing that for some time.
Wouldn't be surprised if he knew about the Daily Campus letter from the walk-on beforehand.
Quite strange.

Mr. Pony, you have been wanting Coach Jones fired since we did not go to the bowl you wanted SMU to go to. Anything negative about Coach Jones you will agree with so your post does not surprise me.

Poor baby, better get the guys together and root like hell for Hawaii these next 2 games. Maybe June can bring some leis and choreograph a haka.

They can go to the Military or Beef O'Brady's Bowl.

SDSU will bring the Poinsettia Bowl tie-in with them to the Big East, hopefully.

It's a strange position to take indeed (I think most teams would prefer to play their bowl game at home b/c of the enormous home field advantage). However, I think players like Cole (who've been here when we went 1-11) see bowls as sort of like Disneyland -- meaning it should be very special and they play in Dallas all the time (practice, games, etc) that a bowl is more "special" when played somewhere else, especially if it were somewhere like Hawaii (or Pasadena!) ;-)

I'm sure he was just giving his opinion and is very grateful.

Anyway, yes, they should have thought about that after laying down against Tulsa and playing [deleted] against Navy but would probably still be looking at a similar situation. Not to mention the BS attendance at home (if playing a big school like BYU I don't think we will have home field advantage if we played at home for our bowl game which is absolutely pathetic - I put that on our school's marketing ... we are just not reaching deeper into the greater DFW market ... can't be a money thing, can it?

Bottom line: these players shouldn't really care about school support at this point. The bowl is all about putting your talent on game tape. Focus on your game and PLAY [deleted] both sides of all the ball all 4 quarters!

I'll be there regardless. Go 'Stangs!!

can't blame the players for wanting to play somewhere other than Dallas. This is supposed to be a reward for them. Hawaii or New Orleans, but I don't see Hawaii beating BYU so better hope for the Big Easy
