As a SMU fan, I promise not to feel offended if I get to go to Hawaii instead of Fair Park this year.
If you can afford the trip out there over Christmas, then yeah, it's awesome. Judging by the number of fans we had in attendance in '09, people either didn't want to shell out the cash to go or spend their Christmas in Hawaii. A lot more SMU fans would get to see us in a bowl if we played in Dallas, Memphis, Houston, etc.

Yeah, for our first bowl game in a quarter century. There won't even be half that this time around. Plus, as someone pointed out earlier, the exposure isn't there either like it was in '09, as there will be NFL games on that night. Hawaii Bowl seems like a lose-lose situation for us: less money, less fans, less exposure, crappier opponent. I get June's affinity for the Islands. As for the players, if they wanted an out-of-town bowl, maybe they should have put up a fight against USM, Navy, and Tulsa. Am I making too much sense here?

You're not serious, right? They have nothing close to a BCS caliber stadium
LSU has homefield advantage locked in, yeah, when they make the BCSNCG once every four years. That's pretty impressive. USC has it when it's at the Rose Bowl. Same for Miami/Florida/FSU at the Orange Bowl. Where do you want the BCS bowls? Cold Northern cities? No thanks. I'm sure the Super Bowl in freaking Indianapolis will be a blast this year
If there ever is another BCS bowl, it's gotta be at Jerryworld. Makes way to much sense
Super badass national Stadium in Hawaii, Actually with the BCS game held there annually and the Pro Bowl there too. Like it Used to be. But if the BCS game was in the house Jerry built I could deal with it. It's that good of a venue.
A truly neutral site right here within the US of A. Is that an insane request by me, no But hey I don't have to pay for it ither.

What? It holds like 50,000. And has nothing close to the amenities of the stadiums in Glendale, Nola, and Miami. Rose Bowl is a dump now but it's the freaking Rose Bowl, and they're renovating it

Yea, I've been there- have you? It's one of the poorest states in the USA, they don't exactly have half a billion dollars laying around for a new stadium. And I don't think the BCS is into charity for poor states- you think the Rose, Fiesta, Sugar, and Orange want to wait another year between NCGs so poor little Hawaii can get their shot? Jerry Jones can't even get into the BCS cartel with his $1.3 billion palace on one of the nation's biggest media markets, that should tell you something.

Been there, Oahu and Maui (AND a lot of other places that you might not think a dumb hick from Michigan has been to) and the Prez is from there, there has to be a shovel ready project to spark the economy in a socialist world. The Rose, Fiesta, Orange and Sugar lose their [deleted] each collectively well, I guess except the Rose because they forced the top B1G and Pac 10 teams to staying with them when they are odd man out. Look at what this year's Orange bowl is probably gonna be, Va tech vs geez I don't know and neither does anybody in the BE. So I say keep the 1-2 game, put it in Obama Stadium in Hawaii, and let all the other bowls return to normalcy as I believe President Harding put it once.

Ok, that is so far outside the realm of possibilities that I'm not even going to get into it all.

Well, June better be putting it in overdrive given how the Sumlin rumors could be a distraction for his team on Saturday.
Personally, I think So. Miss is the better team. Even without the rumors, I think they can beat Houston. I like USM's QB Davis, steady guy.
