We are actually in the midst of doing a burg-off of the top 8 places we went to before to try to come up with a final number one. The holidays kind of messed us up, but we will resume next week.

Just wanted to let folks know that the Burgoff is now complete, and it looks like regular season champ Snookies will retain the title, still just edging out the Uptown Bar and Grill. Fuddruckers held the top spot for several weeks in a surprisingly strong performance, but eventually was passed by the eventual champs, the snook burger.
Complete results ought to be posted soon. Peruna Punch has all the official judges ballots, and he's supposed to make them public....... someday.

Since I live in Houston but am now visiting Dallas more often, I need to know: WHERE IS SNOOKIES LOCATED?

Snookies is located on Oak Lawn, one block north of Lemmon on the east side of the street. Their half pound burger was superb...more importantly they seem to be consistant in their quality. Some of the other places where we ate were really good the first time we visited, but left us disappointed the next time around.

One last time, I would like to remind eveyone that all these places, for the most part, were very good...it wasn't easy trying to pick the very best out of the lot. Also, it should be obvious that personal preferences had an impact on each persons ratings. Having said that, everyone of us enjoyed our Snookie's burger.

You should give it a try!

A quick note to Mustangs35SMU:
When we originally started all this burger analysis (and of course, it's extremely scientific), we included Snuffer's on our list .... and it received the lowest scores across the board, in some cases by a wide margin. They have great cheese fries and terrific queso and chicken sandwiches, but their burgers are well below par. They're still tasty, I guess (almost all burgers have SOME merit), but they didn't hold a candle to the others on our list.

I agree with smudad. Kinkaid's in Fort Worth has been the best burger in the Metroplex for 50 years.

Your Burger Wars page looks great! I'll be sure to sample them all on future visits to Dallas.
Does this mean that we won't be getting any more updates? I've enjoyed reading about your extensive research.

Who's Who, a new place in HP Village makes a very good burger.

SMUFan,

Addison Point is one of the many fine Point restaurants, which includes BurgOff Finalist First & Ten. Take the Addison Point, add a bunch of Mustang memorabilia, players and coaches, and you've got First & Ten.

We concur, a very fine burger indeed!

First & 10 always was (at the old location) and always will be (at the new location) my favorite!

Once our waistlines return to normal, it is tempting to maybe try a series of new places for Burger Wars II, though I must admit, after 10 months of sampling, I was looking forward to eating a burger without having to rate it. I'll speak to my gluttonous compatriots to see if they want to hit the streets again.

The Burger write-ups have been great, and are useful, since they are prime post-SMU game food. Keep it up!
