I do know that this staff has used the threat of leaving to institute positive change on more than one occasion. Hope that's what happened here, that we just improved from this whole deal.

I really don't want to talk about this guy any more, but I have to wonder... IF he is such a great coach / program builder - why would he be so quick to leave SMU? The money is there, the support is there... maybe he wanted to leave before things go south and he is found out??

Regardless, best of luck to JJ - and may he spend many happy years at SMU.

totally agree on that one. that is the single biggest thing we as fans can do to have a positive effect. We need to talk it up with all the non SMU sports fans you know - no matter how many puzzeled reactions you get from non SMU'ers.

This town responds to the cool thing - and we have a shot with the boulevard and some winning of turning that into SMU football.

Has anyone answered why we don't have a marketing budget? That, to me, along with a willingness to allow "riff raff" onto campus is the single publicly visible thing left to conquer. Where's a Russ Potts when you need him?

If this is true, I'm going to slap Mitch and Nick 17 in the face with my huge, brand new oversized lei after every big play next year in the stands. Also going to buy a ton of BLACK Ponies gear since that's our new color just to embrace June and show my support for him and everything he's done.
