Player Decommits
On the Rivals Board. Hope this did not have anything to do with JJ shopping around ...
Re: Player Decommits
It was a linebacker. Luckily we have a couple of good recruits and young LBs on the roster, but it's never good to lose a recruit like this.

Re: Player Decommits
It's on twitter that it was Pettway. This situation with June is a lose lose for SMU. If he stays we lose credibility with recruits. If he goes he takes players and we lose time to recruit new players for this class. This is BS!

JJ either needs to commit or resign...and it needs to be done before the rest of the class takes off..

Re: Player Decommits
Khalil Pettway is Gabriel Marks' buddy. Mark's basically convinced him he should commit and be a part of this monster recruiting class.
So maybe it shouldn't come as a complete surprise that Pettway is looking at other offers when presented with (potentially) more compelling reasons to chose one school over another.
Still have to chalk this up as a loss though.

Most Likely was an academic risk or had test scores that would not qualify

He'd never even visited here and had offers from Arizona, NC State, and West Virginia. This isn't shocking.
