here's a hint about how the June Jones "miracle" happened. SMU completely leveled the admission standards which had restricted the program for 20 years before his arrival. About half the players on the team wouldn't have been admitted 5-10 years ago. Not quite the miracle some SMU fans would have you believe when you have Rice, Tulane, UTEP, UAB, Memphis, and a few Division 1AAs thrown in. Most of the success involved establishing a competitive Model which allowed us to compete. June Jones is a quality non-BCS Coach but comparison of June Jones' success to prior eras is really comparing apples to oranges. I agree with those that the Run n Fun ain't going to get you far in the PAC12. You should know though that I'm not a June Jones fan. I was thinking pretty much the same as most of you before SMU hired him and I really don't think SMU needs him to improve the program now that playing field has been leveled. He is one incredible pain in the [deleted]. He will make 95% of the Cheerleaders to be true-believers and then slowly show you his numerous character flaws.
