So you would rather refuse to negotiate a buyout and have a lame-duck coach for a year? That would set the program back even further...

Don't be so modest, Nick. We all know you run the show.

I love the Ron Meyer idea if only as coach for the bowl.

cant image CofC negotiating a lesser buyout or installment payments. JJ still wanting to call the shots. I say call this, two million up front or stay. Of course he stays that is going to be ugly as well. I have to believe some type of agreement on buyout has been reached for this to reach the point it has

Two SMU recruits have already committed to ASU today.

I know but once it is known that the coach wants to go, you have to get him out the door. The players won't listen to him and recruiting is obviously going to suffer.

Keep him on as a low-level assistant coach. He can sit around and waste away.

Hold him to every penny of the buyout. He can be reassigned to other duties and another coach hired if need be. But he needs to pay for this one. And I wouldn't mind sticking things to Leigh Steinberg either, aka the Bird of Prey. If he wants to be gone, fine, you can go, pay us $2 Million. Oh, you don't want to pay it, fine, you can stay then. We need someone to mow the grass on Bishop Boulevard and coach women's bowling.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
