While I wholeheartedly agree with JT's assessment of MD's flawed, yet well-intentioned poll, I'll also jump in and say I definitely come down on the sunny side of the mountain where the ripplin' waters fall. (That's for all you hardcore Jimmy Martin fans). If Bennett is allowed to stay, we will have more than one winning season by 2008. Possibly three. Bank it.
Like PK, I can't guarantee any bowl games in that period. Nor can I guarantee we will come close to filling our stadium in that period. But we will be much better than we are right now. And we will be competitive in our conference, and more fun to watch. And yeah, if I'm wrong, I have no problem admitting it here. And I will do so, if none of this happens.
pro bennett - i am a believer...i just went back to campus after a six year absence - the campus is more amazing than ever, dallas is an awesome place and the first kids to be on the team that brings SMU back will get almost as much coverage as the champs!!!!
To all potential recruits reading along - SMU is awesome - go there and have fun with hot rich girls and if you dont go pro, you can get a a job that will get you more hot rich girls. ![]()

----------------------------- Does anybody else think RAPLH should be named as the new 'Recruiting Coordinator'?
i live in a 45th floor penthouse apt in NYC. i have a high payinf job on wall street. i have a hot wife.
thank you smu i'll post a picture of my view of central park and the empire states building if someone can tell me how to post a picture[/img]
I hope SMU didn't teach you to be a materialistic facile person who bases success on home address, where one works, how much one makes and having a trophy wife. If so, you spent way too much time in your frat house.

Now now, Diamond Girl. You know as well as I do that Ralph was a "materialistic, facile person who bases success on home address, where one works, how much one makes and having a trophy wife" long before he enrolled at SMU. The frats had nothing to do with it. More power to him! If I was a stud recruit, that's the kind of stuff I'd like to hear. Besides, I have no view whatsoever in any direction from my humble abode at 88th st, and I'm looking for a more scenic alternative to my apartment for watching a game. I'm offically inviting myself over to Ralph's pad next time we're on TV (2009 or so). I'll introduce him to my friend Jim Beam, and we'll throw ourselves off the balcony together when we lose.
Re:So Raplh, were you not being honest when you registered and stated your location as Ocala, Fl or are you just relating to us your latest dream of living in NYC with a trophy wife and high paying job? ![]()
KnuckleStang, I have no idea who Ralph is, and was he was a high recruit and did will, more power to him. I just don't think anyone should base attending SMU on these factors. Then again, I'm only a girl and my only goal was being one of the first girls in the Mustang Band. But I had higher aspirations once I started at SMU. I became one of the best students in my department and went on to attend Cambridge and earn my doctorate there. I don't have a high paying job or a prestigious address, but thanks to the professors who believed in me and my potential, I can say I have a Cambridge Ph.D.

you are definitely an intelligent woman-which I admire-but you obviously don't understand the inner thoughts of an 18 year old high school boy. Of course, they make decisions based on hot woman, late nite parties, hip hosts, the steak in the cafeteria, the length of the beds in the dorms-heck one kid even eliminated Tech because "they don't even have a mall".
I wonder when that kid visited Tech. If he was talking about a shopping mall, they have one now in Lubbock. (Shhhh...don't tell anyone!)

Ok, guys, you got me there. I don't have a mind of an 18-year-old male. So I don't understand the incentives to get someone to go somewhere. I guess as long as there are good beds, a good place to work out, hot chicks, and as much food as I want that's all I need. Am I close to understanding this?
