What did Mason tell McElwain?

Some said Mason was on his way to Colorado State earlier this week, but PP got in front of Mason who told him he was happy here and was planning on being here for the long haul.

Today, Football Scoop is reporting it again...take it for what it's worth (IMO Mason wouldn't leave us for CSU):

If we lose Mason then we need to get rid of JJ. We are losing coaches and recruits that will set us back another 2-3 yrs if things don't change. JMHO

He said he was contacted by two schools that he declined to identify, and received an offer ... which he turned down.

"I wasn't interested in going any place else," Mason said. "SMU is my home, my daughter goes to school here, and my wife and I love Dallas and SMU. I'll be here as long as June Jones and SMU want me here."

I think that covers it.
