I am so sorry that a great day for SMU was marred by the injury to Williams. I wish the very best to him and to his parents during his convalescence and rehabilitation. I certainly hope, as already has been wished, that arrangements can be made so far as classwork is concerned. One thing, seems to me like Bradenton is a place where a lot of people would like to be this season of the year.

Some people say that these kids get a free education but that is not true. Those kids earn those scholarships with blood, sweat, and tears. They put there bodies on the line. Praying for a full recovery for you Jared.

I believe the metal rod that was inserted in the femur during surgery is normally removed after the bone is fully healed.

Actually I think the opposite. Unless it is causing pain or other problems they recommend leaving it in because the surgery to remove it is pretty invasive and opens up the possibility of refracture. It is stronger if you leave it in.

Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

The news about the leg is actually good news. Broken bones mend faster and have less of a legacy than torn ligaments. Glad to hear this news. If Jarred can come back (and there is no real reason to rush him) we will be incredibly deep at Rb next year with Wembly, Line, nchimne and maybe Williams. I'd like to see some more rotation in the back field so line doesn't get hurt so much. Something like 10-15 carries for line, and another 5-10 carries for the rest each game

I know this is a topic about Jared (really good kid that I hope gets another opportunity in the spotlight before graduating SMU), but ...

I completely agree that Line should get more rest. Here's what I'm thinking ...

- 15 rushes for Line
- If Nleimchi is the real deal, give him 5
- Wimbley, another 2 (especially on goal line/short down situations)
- Might be good for Williams to take a red shirt and come back strong - no need to rush it - but if he doesn't, give him some depending on injuries/game time situation.

That was the worst injury that I have seen this season. Hope he gets back to 100%

I would like to see Wimbley get more carries next year, and not just at the goal line. Hawaii used to be one of my favorite teams to watch when June was there and he frequently gave carries to Regan Mauia who was over 300lbs.

Once a guy that big gets into open space, they are extremely tough to bring down and could definitely wear down a defense. Line is a truck in his own right, but if I have been slugging it out with Line all game, I will not be very excited if I'm a corner and see 260lb Wimbley rumbling toward me.

True. Depends on game time situations. With our "spread out offense" I'd rather have speed guys get into gaps and take it to the house. We aren't a 'ball control' offense where someone Wimbley would fit perfectly. Having said that, however, he is an absolute asset and will be fun to watch run over guys once he gets better at the position.

Thinking about Wimbley (and Line and even Nlemchi who is a rather large RB as well), really makes me think this team could be REALLY good next year. Think about it: GG at QB (with KP as backup and even quality 3rd string with CP and Burcham waiting/developing as RS) and the STRENGTH of our team may actually be our defense?!? Wow. With the new OL gelling with all-world DJ at slot (and hoping Dieter is the real deal on the outside) while finding a wild card as a potential slot/scatback like a Lewis or Stewart (Dajuan) this team could be really scary next year in a depleted CUSA. (of course, our OL could become a trainwreck and injuries mount but I always tend to focus on the positive).
