Ryan Smith made CUSA Honor Roll-I wouldn't be surprised if he got it.

I wonder if "last time defense this time offense" will come into play? Should not but it might.

I would like to see Line or JGD. I think Reed would be out due to his outbursts last year. Great kid and great player, but I think the other two would beat him out here.

Would be ok with DJ3 as well. One of the most exciting players in the conference. Seems to be over his academic issues, and he gives it all week after week.

I would not be surprised if they gave it to a younger player, someone who will be here for a few more years. Maybe Acker or Thompson?? Just guesses on my part.

Line or JGD in my opinion. Think I'd go with JGD 1st though.

It bothers me that, thanks to the NCAA, O-linemen are excluded from this award.

Based on today's reports I would assume Reed and DJ will not be in the running.

I disagree. I think #23 should be worn by any player, not necessarily a starter, who does things right on AND off the field, is a team first kind of guy and leader. As far as obstacles....overcoming loafing and pregnancy issues or drugs or criminal activities are self-imposed obstacles and although racism still exists in many areas to compare what Mr. Levias went through is belittling his accomplishments. How about asking Mr. Levias what he would like the wearing of his number to represent?

If they turn it into just another MVP Award then they might as well not have it. It has no special significance other than what every other MVP Award recognizes on every other team. I'm pretty sure it won't be an MVP Award.

Not having anyone wearing #23 could send an important message too.
