We Have Lost Another Great Mustang
I have received word that Maco Stewart passed away today in Corsicana. For those of you not familiar with Maco he played his high school football in Corsicana (along with other SMU greats Bobby Wilson and Bob Finley). He was a great end at SMU and was one of the three captains of the 1935 National Championship team that went to the Rose Bowl. I will post more details later. Please pray for Maco's family.

Thanks 50s Pony.
I pray for God's peace on the family. God bless them.

Sad day for us Mustangs, but we can celebrate an exceptional fellow Mustang. Prayers for his family.
50s Pony, Is he the last surviving member of the 1935 team? Is Maurice Orr still alive? I think he was the only other member alive as of a couple of years ago.

Falcon,
Duane Nutt is one of my dearest friends. I was only mentioning guys that had played with Maco.
For instance, in 1963 three great Corsicana High stars came to SMU the same year -- the great Jim Hagle, receiver Don Denbow, and defensive end Jim Wood. A few years later Corsicana sent us Mike Nekuza who turned out to be an All American for us. Corsicana has been good to us over the years.
