Re: SMU allotment to Baylor SOLD OUT
It looks like the SMU-BU game might become attractive to both schools. Traditional rivalries, great attendance and both teams having success. It would be nice if these trends continued. Last year SMU and BU made a schedule change. How great would it have been at Ford to be playing BU after they took down TCU and we had the game in Ford? Our attendance for last year would have been a lot different.

Would have been fun. Isn't the BU/SMU game at Ford next year?ponyte wrote:It looks like the SMU-BU game might become attractive to both schools. Re: SMU allotment to Baylor SOLD OUT
Last year's SMU/TCU game was just about the first Classic in my lifetime-I've seen 10 SMU/Baylor games every bit as good going back to Jerry LeVias' frantic punt return which lead SMU to 4th Q comeback just as Tech upset Arkansas seemingly opening the door for us to go to Cotton Bowl. SMU/Baylor means more to me than SMU/TCU. This game should be played every year

If we replaced Navy it would have added about 1.5k to your season average if we traveled as well as 2005's game at SMU. We brought over 12k to that.ponyte wrote:It looks like the SMU-BU game might become attractive to both schools. Traditional rivalries, great attendance and both teams having success. Re: SMU allotment to Baylor SOLD OUT
Per the Baylor Ticket Office this morning
Only about 7,000 tickets left for SMU. The lady told me they are selling them pretty quickly. That tells me the paid attendance today would be 43,000.
With a little under 2 weeks to go.....this to me is a good sign. I remember most games last year, we had 7-8000 left the day or 2 before the game. And we got close to selling a lot of those out.

Luckily the schedule shows BU/SMU, BU/TCU, and TCU/SMU all the way through 2019. Hopefully it continues long past that point too.Stallion wrote:Last year's SMU/TCU game was just about the first Classic in my lifetime-I've seen 10 SMU/Baylor games every bit as good going back to Jerry LeVias' frantic punt return which lead SMU to 4th Q comeback just as Tech upset Arkansas seemingly opening the door for us to go to Cotton Bowl. Most SMU fans are in section U. There are tons of seats left in section T, which is beside the SMU section, and better yardline seats. No excuses for not going to this game.

Schedule came open so I am now going. It is true - still tickets right next to the SMU section. I even snagged an aisle seat.
