SI's C-USA Preview

Predict us to go 5-7. NO WAY

Offensive MVP

RB
Zach Line
2011 stats: 208 carries, 1,224 yards, 17 TD
2012 projection: 250 carries, 1,400 yards, 20 TD
It's difficult not to hand this off (see what we did there?) to a guy who's just earned his third consecutive all-conference selection. Line finished seventh nationally in rushing yardage last season despite missing the final three games of the year with a torn tendon in his foot. His 122.4 rush yards per game and 5.88 yards per rush were the best marks in Conference USA, earning him a spot among the 10 Doak Walker Award semifinalists.

That's a ridiculous prediction, even if it is possible. We lose the three big OOC games, quite possibly, but we don't go 4-4 in conference. To say that even with ZL we lose 7 games is to say our D is awful, which it isn't.

Why is Houston getting so much love??

Good question, considering their mid-30's twelfth year senior QB graduated, and their head coach left for A&M.

Does seem a bit harsh. But it appears our collapse in mid season last year has coattails. We don’t have a reputation of being competitive in the games where teams have as good or better talent. We need to knock off a few good teams to start getting that respect.

Exactly.

I can see anywhere from 5-7 to 10-2, but I'm a bit surprised to see a national publication on the low end.

Bogus preview. Not in depth at all. Don't waste your time.

Really, we're just "practice snaps" for Coog High? Where did they find this whackjob to write this garbage? She must be Laken's roommate in Tuscaloosa.

I think they have our predicted record confused with TCU's predicted record.
Just send 'da money.

I thought the same thing. It made my blood boil. I say we flood her inbox with nasty e-mails.

Not a pretty picture, but it is not out of the realm of possibility.

Non conference 1-3, everyone understands why someone might predict that even if they do not agree with it.

I assume the conference losses she projects are:
UH - they have beaten us 6 years in a row by an average of 40-23
UCF - on the road, they are considered one of the best teams in the conference by quite a few projections
USM - SMU has never beaten them in C-USA, rolled us last year
Tulsa - rolled us last year

I am not saying that I agree with those predictions, but I can understand how she might have come up with them.

That said, the practice snaps comment was completely ridiculous and certainly makes me think she did not put much thought into the whole thing.

great bulletin board material. Love it actually. GG should have a chip on his shoulder anyway, but if the whole team does, even better.

Weak schedule and they have the best QB in the conference statistically. Don't see them winning less than 9 games.

4 conference foes are ranked lower than 100

add SFA

5 wins

do we seriously got 0-7 in 5 home games remaining?
