The Ticket has to go!

Post by DallasDiehard »

SMU needs to get a new station to broadcast its games.

Have you heard the commercials they're running to promote the charity match at Moody between Pete Sampras and Andy Roddick? Roddick is one of the top players in the world, and Sampras is one of the top players of all time. But they're running spots that tout the exhibition match between Sampras and one of the Ticket guys (Gordon, I think) versus Roddick and someone else (Corby).

Then, as an afterthought, they also mention that Sampras and Roddick are mentioning playing a match against each other.

These are two great players putting on a match to raise money for charity - and they use it to drum up publicity for the scrubs who work on that station. If it wasn't for Rich Phillips and Craig Swann doing the broadcasts of the SMU games in the fall, there would be never be a reason to listen to that awful station.

That's shameful.

According to PonyPride, that event is to benefit the "Tim and Tom Gullikson and Foundation, which assists brain tumor patients and their families."

And the station is using the match to promote itself? That station is being taken out of my car. Permanently. I'm at the SMU games anyway, so there is no need to ever listen to that bunch of wasted airwaves.

That station has always been terrible and it always will be.
Except for our games, of course.
