...whoever the SMU player (looked like a DE maybe?) was who jacked up one of the Baylor players who were staring at the punt down on our half of the field. Legal play, but the Baylor player and the ref didn't seem to take too kindly to it. Gotta play to the whistle.

I love "Spike" first and foremost, I wish we had more of him, but he can sometimes lose his mind (good and bad). I understand play to the whistle, but that play was a cheap shot in my book. Punt is slowly coming to a stop, SMU is not making a play on the ball obviously, and players (SMU and Baylor) are letting it roll to a stop … that’s how you end a season/career or worse on a no play. Spike did the same thing on a late hit with the guy on the ground, he came in from nowhere and dropped on him and was flagged. Fortunately, the Baylor boys reacted and we had offsetting flags. Again, I love "Spike" and his passion/energy.

High motor play (or at least a Hustle play) for me was Rogers coming from the opposite side of the field and chasing down and knocking OB the Baylor running back as he was streaking down the sideline for a sure 6, he always hustles sideline to sideline. The broadcast guys even noted it.

Disagree with Spike. Need 4-5 guys just like him.

Some folks have been reading their own press clippings by the poor showing of fundamentals (tackling especially) by our so-called stud LBs (JG?). And, like I've said many times, running support from our safeties is terrible - Ryan Smith is a great kid, but he has consistently missed tackles here over the years. Your safety has to be among your best tacklers. He's one of our worst. I say give Roundtree a try ... I thought Jay Scott looked ok (he's bigger so that helps).
